A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

WWF
In his role at WWF UK, Will leads a Nature-based Solutions Accelerator, as part of the Climate Solutions Partnership with HSBC and the World Resources Institute, and Trillion Trees, a joint venture with BirdLife International and the Wildlife Conservation Society to accelerate finance and implementation for forest protection and restoration. In both partnerships the goal is to demonstrate the delivery of high quality nature-based solutions (NbS) and unlock sector wide barriers to scaling up private finance for NbS. Before this role, Will served as the Global Leader on Forests for WWF International, and Chief Advisor on Forests for WWF UK.
Prior to that, Will spent several years working inside the UK government as a senior policy advisor on international environment and development issues, in both Defra and the Cabinet Office where Will advised the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the time. Between the civil service and WWF, Will had a spell working in Malawi supporting the delivery of community based forest management and climate advocacy with civil society organisations.
