A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Jon is the CEO of Denmark’s third largest pension fund, where he focuses on continuously developing the sustainability profile of the fund. PKA’s goal is to continue to be the most sustainable pension fund in Denmark, and one of the best on a global scale relative to its size. Jon has a strong focus on making actual ESG investments, and 10% (or 5 bn US$) of the fund is currently already invested in the green transformation. The aim is to reach 7 bn US$ by 2025, and a further 1.5 bn US$ in social investments, also by 2025.
Jon holds a Master of Science in engineering and has a graduate diploma in Business Administration. Before joining PKA, Jon was the COO for 10 years at Denmark’s largest pension fund, PFA. Jon engages in international outreach, including his role as a board member at IIGCC and Principal at GFANZ. Jon is the chair of IIP and a member of the board at AIP Management. IIP is an alternative investment platform for institutional investors investing in private funds; AIP is an independent investment manager dedicated to advising institutional investors on direct investments in energy and infrastructure assets in Europe and the US.
In addition, Jon has PKA focused on participating in and contributing to the world’s leading sustainable investor initiatives, e.g. IIGCC Climate Action 100+, IIGCC Net Zero Investment Framework, TCFD reporting and the NZAOA.
