A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.
Stephanie Pfeifer
CEO, IIGCC
Stephanie Pfeifer is the CEO of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC). Stephanie has led the IIGCC since 2005 and has overseen its expansion into a pan-European investor group during that time. She sits on the Steering Committees for Climate Action 100+ and the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative and chairs the Steering Committee for the Investor Agenda and Executive Committee for the Paris Aligned Investment Initiative.
Prior to her role at IIGCC, Stephanie worked in investment banking for over seven years, including as a senior economist at Morgan Grenfell and a VP at Deutsche Bank in London. She holds an MSc with distinction in Environmental Studies, a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and an MA in Economics from Exeter University. Stephanie received an OBE for her services to climate finance in Her Majesty the Queen’s Jubilee Birthday Honours List in 2022.
