A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Eva was appointed Head of the Environmental Policy Unit in the Environment, Climate and Social Office of the European Investment Bank on 1 May 2022. Previously to her appointment as Head of Unit, she was the Lead Environment and Biodiversity Specialist. Â

She leads the EIB’s efforts to support EU and international biodiversity policies, increase the availability of finance to drive natural capital transformation, mainstream biodiversity in Bank operations, and build an understanding in sustainable infrastructure and sustainable finance, biodiversity and ecosystem risks and impacts as well as biodiversity valuation and accounting. She is one of the originators of the EIB/EC Natural Capital Financing Facility. Â

Prior to joining the EIB she was an environment specialist at the Asian Development Bank. She has over 20 years of experience in environmental impact assessment, natural resource management and biodiversity conservation and has worked extensively across Europe, Asia, the Pacific and Africa with various development agencies and projects.Â
