A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

As Head of Client Servicing within Ortec Finance’s Climate & ESG Solutions, Russ is responsible for the practical implementation of its investment decision-making technology and solutions across a wide range of financial institutions. He leads a team of professionals to provide clients a seamless integration into existing systems, access to ongoing support as well as guidance on how its analytics can help clients measure, manage and monitor their climate strategy.Â
Russ has over 15 years of experience in the finance sector and joined Ortec Finance in 2021 from Aviva PLC. During his time at Aviva, he was responsible for identifying the physical risks within their portfolio and its subsequent inclusion within their award-winning TCFD-aligned climate change financial disclosures. His findings played a fundamental key role in driving Aviva’s net-zero commitment as a member of the UN Net-Zero Asset Owners’ Alliance as well as practical changes within its investment mandates and product design.Â
Russ is a UK-qualified actuary and holds a Master of Aerospace Engineering from Cranfield University.Â
