A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

Ernst-Paul Nas
Deputy Director General for Climate and Energy at the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy
Since 1 October 2019 Ernst-Paul Nas is director Electricity and deputy Director General Climate & Energy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy.
Previously Mr. E.P. (Ernst-Paul) Nas MPA was director Legislation and Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy and the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. Before that he held several other management positions at the directorate Legislation and Legal Affairs and he was also employed as a lawyer at the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Ernst-Paul Nas studied Dutch Law at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and attended the postgraduate course Master of Public Administration at the Netherlands School of Public Administration.
