Torben Möger Pedersen

CEO at PensionDanmark

Torben Möger Pedersen (b. 1955) is CEO of PensionDanmark – one of the largest pension funds in Denmark established in 1993. 

PensionDanmark manages defined contribution pension plans, health care plans and life-long training programs based on collective agreements covering more than 754,000 blue-collar workers employed in 23,000 companies within the private and public sector. Total assets under management are EUR 36 billion and growing rapidly. A substantially part of the portfolio is direct investments in renewable energy infrastructure assets and sustainable real estate. PensionDanmark has received a great number of Awards for its groundbreaking investment strategy.

Torben Möger Pedersen holds a number of Danish board and investment committee memberships including Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Arbejdernes Landsbank, Insurance & Pension Denmark, Copenhagen Infrastructure Fund I, II and III, Danish Climate Investment Fund, Danish Agribusiness Fund, Danish SDG Investment Fund, SDG High Level Advisory Board, Danish Society for Education and Business (DSEB) and Board Leadership Society in Denmark. In November 2019, the Danish Government appointed Torben chairman of the Climate Partnership for the Financial Sector.

Internationally, Torben Möger Pedersen is a B-Team Leader and member of the Steering Committee of Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance. In addition, Torben Möger Pedersen is a member of OECDs Working Group on Long-Term Investments, the Private Sector Advisory Group within the UN’s Green Climate Fund, the Global Agenda Council on Investments and The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders under the auspices of World Economic Forum and member of the Advisory Board in OECD’s Centre on Green Finance and Investment. 

Torben is chairman of the Danish Climate Partnership on Finance, Vice Chair of IIGCC,  Task Force Member of Sustainable Markets Initiative and member of WEF’s CEO Climate Leader Alliance. Torben Möger Pedersen holds a M.Sc. Economics from University of Copenhagen and is adjunct professor at CBS.
