A new key biodiversity platform for cross sectoral collaboration
For its inaugural launch, World Biodiversity Summit will help define what world leaders and the private sector in biodiversity and climate action need to do in the medium and long term to achieve sustainable development and hinder further biodiversity loss, focusing on partnerships and investment mechanisms as levers of progress. World Biodiversity Summit is a platform for responding to accelerating biodiversity loss, by using the Paris Agreement as a framework to learn from, promoting relevant solutions, innovations, and leadership networks, strengthening nature restoration and conservation. Nature-based solutions will be highlighted, from specificecosystems to global possibilities.

General Secretary of DanChurchAid (DCA)
Birgitte Qvist-Sørensen has been the General Secretary of DanChurchAid (DCA) since the end of 2014. DCA is a leading Danish humanitarian and development NGO dedicated to helping the world’s poorest by saving lives, building resilient communities and fighting extreme inequality with a focus on humanitarian assistance, food security, private-sector co-operation, and international law. DCA operates in 19 countries and employs 900 people around the world, with an annual turnover of approximately €130 million.
Birgitte is Chair of the Board of ACT (Action by Churches Together) Alliance, an alliance of 142 members with a total annual budget of approx. €2,6 billion.
Birgitte has extensive executive management experience in international development, humanitarian assistance and conflict resolution as a top manager, administrator and facilitator. Furthermore, she has executive management
experience in Danish social services, pre-school, education, health, disability and social security. She has solid Board experience, having served as a member or chair of numerous Danish and international boards, think tanks, advisory groups, etc.
